Dear Potential Sponsor,

You have heard the clarion call from two of our most outstanding leaders, Texas Governor Rick Perry and President George W. Bush, in more than one ways inviting all of us to volunteer our time and to becoming a part of the solution in making sure that “No child in our educational system is left behind” because “Success In School = Success In Life” and help build a better Texas and a better America for generations yet to come.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Founder& CEO of The Saturday Scholars Program Foundation, Inc., we cordially invite you to be a part of the solution; to join our elite sponsors, Verizon and Wise Business Services Inc.  as a  “Partner For Excellence In Education” sponsor.

Your sponsorship will enable The Saturday Scholars Program Foundation, Inc. to grow and to continue to coordinate and provide the Saturday Scholars Program, a FREE modeling bundled program of tutoring, mentoring, nurturing, motivational and role modeling to primarily elementary and middle/Junior High schools where 50 or more percent of the student populations is African American, Asian, Hispanic and other needed student Population.

Mr. James V. Coleman was a winner of the “2002 Governor’s Volunteer Award” winner in Texas. President George W. Bush (then Governor Bush) during an appearance at the 2000 National Council of LaRAZA Convention in San Diego, California, congratulated Mr. Coleman for the award and added that it was a very “Big Award”.  Mr. Coleman often refers to this award as a validation that he and his several thousands volunteers were doing the right thing for our country’s children, our future.

The Saturday Scholars™ Program, has set the trend in FREE and “BUNDLE” motivation, tutoring, mentoring, nurturing, and role modeling  … as a single deliverable to all elementary and middle school children.  The Texas Education Agency (TEA) in 2002 selected the Saturday Scholars Program as one of its BEST-OF-BEST in supporting its GEAR-UP Program.  Mr. James V. Coleman, Founder and CEO, has thus challenged the Board of Directors for The Saturday Scholars Program Foundation, Inc. to raise the necessary funds in order to:

  • SUCCESSFULLY launch the Saturday Scholars 11th Season and to have a successful 11th Annual Celebration on Saturday, April 26, 2003.
  • Expand this award-winning program in Texas and throughout the United States to reach more needy students. With TEA Video exposed to all 7000 campuses in Texas, Mr. Coleman is anticipating a 10% take, that’s 700 schools statewide that might want to rollout the Saturday Scholars Program in their respective schools. We need your support in meeting this demand.

  • Establish a National Headquarter office in Texas with a paid staff including the Founder & CEO, an Executive Director, State Directors, Volunteer Coordinators and Campus Coordinators.

Now in its 11th Academic Year, The Saturday Scholars Program has reached and affected over 20,000 CHILDREN within the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.  On April 26, 2003, we will celebrate 11 years of service to our children, our communities and our nation. Please join us as an event sponsor or let's discuss the greater opportunity of being “Partner For Excellence In Education."

What’s in it for you? Your sponsorship and/or partnership will allow you to generate awareness of your company brand and your corporate citizenship to viable consumers, investors and employees  in a casual, non-aggressive setting.  Additionally, because each event donates proceeds to selected charities, sponsors are able to write-off the below-market costs of participation.
